That is generally going to be a store by store thing. Seems these days there are not a lot of stores that are will to put out exepensive lenses for people to try. You should go into the store itself. However, your best bet may be to try it at a speciality store.

Hey blahblahbloo,
Great question. We do not have sample lenses that customers can try out other than the lenses already attached to our demo cameras. With that said if the store has any open-box lenses they will often allow a customer to try them out. Our stores would not open up inventory to allow a customer to try out a lens.
Thanks,

Hi blahblahbloo,
That is a great question, as one of many camera experts located in many of our Best Buy stores, I can tell you that there are certain locations that will have many of lens that you can come in and try on or at least see how they work. Not all of our locations will have these services, however, you are able to check for your nearest Best Buy Camera Experience Shops through Bestbuy.com, and you will have full access to locations of your nearest camera experience locations. They offer not only a way to view lenses but also provide a professional who can help with your specific camera brand or issue. I hope this answers your question, and we hope to see you come in to help advance your photography career!
Thank you for your inquiry!
