we bought a Sony Handycam HDRPJ340 to record memories and be able to make home DVD's we have transferred the video that we've shot onto our computer and downloaded PlayMemories Home software that we were told to use. After editing and getting the clips ready for the dvd creation and following all the steps it either says it's complete but doesn't play on either one of our dvd players or computers. Or it says Unable to create the disc, check the connection to the disc drive or the status, Click retry to start the dvd creation again. I've tried 2 different computers, 2 different dvd players and even other software to create the dvd and am having no luck, Please Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I've already wasted about 10 dvds trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello Sue-
This definitely sounds like a pain. My recommendation would be to contact Sony support for more help with this. You can find their support page here.
I hope that this helps!

Hey Smk1226,
I've never used PlayMemories software, but do know it's Sony's proprietary Video/Image editing software. So just to be clear there is a create a DVD option in the PlayMemories software? Does this software walk you through creating a home menu page for the DVD and all the chapters on this DVD? There is a difference between merely storing your video on a DVD and creating a formatted DVD that is able to be played back in a DVD player.
What is the size of your completed DVD? A typical DVD-R can only hold 4.7 GB of data.

I had a similiar issue when I did such a thing. There should be a setting when you make the DVD to finalize the disk. meaning once you finalize it you won't be able to write to it again.
I had burned 2 or 3 dvds and they would not play in my dvd player on the tv.
I found that setting and used it the next time and it worked.
