I read in recent articles that Nikon and Canon are going to stop production of DSLR Cameras.
The advances on mirrorless cameras have increased now to the point that they are almost as good as DSRL in terms of speed.
I would tend to think this will also mean the end to the production of lenses that are made to mount to DSLR bodies.

I am fortunate in that I already have all the lenses I want for my Nikon DSLR.
However, if they are going to be discontinued one of 2 things could happen. The price of existing inventory will go way up as they will be the end.
Or there may be good sales on lenses to clear inventory space.

I don't think this will happen. Because DSLRs have their own value and performance. If this will happen then their prices will go up for a while.
