Security Camera

The security cameras which I now have installed (SimpliSafe) keep disconnecting from the wireless network. SimpliSafe says that my internet speeds are too slow. The current average speeds which my internet service provides me are: Download-35mbps, Upload-4.0-4.43mbps, Ping-14. SimpliSafe requires an upload speed of 22mbps. As you can see, my MetroCast internet speed is grossly inadequate. In fact, according to MetroCast, a speed of 22mbps in not available. What security cameras can I purchase which will work within the speeds that I currently have? Thanks!

Good question! After reviewing and our selection of Security Camera options, I'm unfortunately not readily locating a system that fits your current internet speeds. That's not to say we don't have one though.


I'd suggest visiting your local Best Buy store and speaking with one of our knowledgeable associates regarding your situation. They might have some more insights available to assist you from here.

Alexandra, Thanks for reading my question and for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it. I called Nest Cam directly to ask if their cameras would work under my internet provider's actual speeds. They told me that their cameras require only 2.2mbps in upload speed. That compares with the 22mbps speed that SimpliSafe told me they require. Since my MetroCast internet service provider's upload speed is generally from 4.1-4.6mbps, it seems that the Nest Cam will work. As soon as I have time, I'll order them. Thanks again, Alexandra.
