SD card hot in dash cam

I bought a Crosstour Dash Cam CR30 and a micro SD card to use with it. I put the SD card in the camera and about a minute later it was so hot I couldn’t hardly touch it. Any advice? Thanks

Re: SD card hot in dash cam

Is your dash cam on the dash and in the sun light?

Did you buy a fast or slow SD card.  If you purchased a slow card it may be working too hard to transfer the video stream.

Did it not do the same with a previous SD card or is the dash cam new also. I tend to think it could be more an issue with the Dash Cam

Re: SD card hot in dash cam

Both are new. This is the first SD card I’ve used with it. I may need to return the dash cam and spend a little more money. I’ll also check the speed of the card. Any recommendations for a dash cam? Thank you.

Re: SD card hot in dash cam

Kenwood, Cobra, Garmin,

If you want real good quality some of the HD Dash cams are outstanding.

I would advise checking the laws in your state first as to where you can mount dash cams.

The EcoMaster is pretty slick as it replaces your rear view mirror.
