I recently bought an Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 camera from the Best Buy next door.
Recently after a night out I went to move pictures to my computer and that's where I've found some troubles. When I take the memory card OUT (Kodak 4gb SD card) the camera operates just fine.
When I turn the camera on with the memory card IN it slowly boots up and leaves me 2 options: power down or format memory card. I went back to Best Buy and bought a card reader thinking I could do it that way and when I put my SD card in there it doesn't pick up the SD card.
When I went to Best Buy to show them my problem the camera booted up fine with the card in but I bought the reader anyways but after that I just can't access pictures on the SD card.
Has anyone else had a camera issue like this or know of anything I can do? There's some pictures on here I need to save before I format the card and erase anything. Anyone know of any help?

Have you tried connecting the card reader to your computer with the memory card in the reader, right clicking on the reader, and then selecting the open option to make sure the files are there? Could you view the images when the camera booted up fine at our store?
If they aren't there you will need to get an image recovery program to try and recover the data off this card. There are many programs out there that can recover data off of a memory card. Some are free, and some cost money. I would suggest trying the free programs first; the reason I suggest this is that if one program fails to recover your images another program might be successful. If you have any questions for me just post back here, or send me a private message by clicking on the link in my signature.

When I plug the card reader into my computer it brings up 2 drives (E and F) but it says both are empty. I've downloaded a few of these free recovery programs but it doesn't pick up those drives. When I plug in my camera to the computer WITHOUT the memory card it picks it up, when I do it WITH the memory card in it will NOT pick it up...so I'm not sure what to do.
I bought this memory card and camera from Best Buy about 3 weeks ago. Normally I wouldn't throw such a fuss and would just format the card and try again but there's a picture with someone I haven't seen in forever that I would REALLY love to save before I formatted the memory card.
Does Geek Squad or the camera section at Best Buy have something where they could get the picture off for me? I've downloaded free programs and spent $20ish dollars on a Dynex card reader basically trying to save this 1 picture and I'm having 0 luck. Is there anything they can do at the store next door or am I going to have to shell out cash for some special company/program to get the picture I am after?
Thanks again for the help, let me know what I can do!

The Geek Squad® does offer data recovery services! The price varies greatly for this service. To get an estimate on how much it would cost just go to the Geek Squad® precinct in your local Best Buy® store, and they should be able to help.

You are out of luck. Go back to Best Buy and get a Sandisk SD card. Kodak cards are cheap, repackaged, and come from the worst sources. Don't bother paying for the data recovery service from Geek Squad because they will just do what you did and use the free programs to try to recover what you couldn't. The card is likely ruined so there is no point in keeping it.
