Its an awesome camcorder no doubt, except the recording quality stalls my netbook when trying to burn the video to a DVD.
I found a converter called MOV to WMV that converts the Mpeg 4 video back to standard WMV video thats more usable on a slower machine. You have to go into the advanced camcorder options, shoot your video in the MOV format then run them through the converter found here: http://www.movtowmv.com/ Once you do this , the file is virtually playable in any media player, even under XP where previously it would not download the codecs.

Hi hockeycanuckjc,
I was glad to hear that you like your new Insignia camcorder, and I can sympathize with having a slower computer that isn't able to handle HD video very well. I just purchased the Canon 7D DSLR that records full 1080p in the MOV format, and the video is very choppy on my old single core processor desktop. I think I will try this convertor tonight, and see if I like the results!
