Hi astat78,

If my camera broke after ten months I’d be upset, but don’t worry, as long as it’s not due to some type of physical damage like a drop or spill, you should be covered. It sounds like you will probably have to get the camera repaired, but fortunately most digital cameras come with a one year manufacturers’ warranty which covers manufacturers’ defects.  You could contact Canon for service, or you could take the camera to a Geek Squad® precinct in your local Best Buy® store, and they should be able to send it out for repair under the manufacturers’ warranty. I hope this helps!

Do you know if you purchased any performance service plans with Best Buy? If not, you still may able to speak with the manufacturer because usually every electronic device comes with a one year warranty. Goodluck!
