Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

Hi jhofer,

I can completely understand you being anxious to find out when you will finally be able to purchase this DSLR from us (looks like a very nice DSLR), and I definitely appreciate your continued patronage with our company.

On BestBuy.com it states that the estimated date of arrival for this camera to customer's that have pre-ordered it from us is between 3/29/2010 and 4/3/2010. This means that this camera should be available for purchase on BestBuy.com by 3/29/2010 or shortly before this date. The availability of products for sale on BestBuy.com and our stores usually mirror each other, which means this camera will most likely be available for purchase in our stores close to 3/29/2010.

I hope this helps!

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

Allen,

I think one of concerns here is that this camera is available else where - but other customer desired to get at Bestbuy because of stores perks like % percent and  rewards.

Personal I like to buy my camera equiptment at your store - because I feel better in taken home optics in stead of having it ship.  But some items like my MP-65E lens and MT-24x Macro flash are not in available local camera stores and much be purchase from places like B&H Photo Video.

Another concern I have is that the local store will not have the T2i when it comes out because others have purchase and I hope they have enough of these camera when its finally avail.

Right now B& H is showing it temporary out of stock.  I hope with a big company like Bestbuy, you can have the camera in stores and available ASAP.

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

Allan,

I understand when it is available according to BestBuys website.

Where I am frustrated is:

***Inconsistent communication from BestBuy employees. Employee even telling me it would be in Feb 28.

***That Best Buy cannot get this product until a full month past everyone

Hope that these problems can be corrected before more longtime customers are forced to go elsewhere for the high dollar purchases.....

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

I not sure if this means anything I notice the T1i and 7d both on sale in latest bestbuy ad.  My guess is that it will available in 2 weeks from now.  T1i would be attempting but it does not have the full HD video that T2i has  - Price would have to drop a lot more also.

I am going to wiat it out for T2i - but also desired a good 0% deal.  It doesn't matter much to be but I try to do it and also pay it off months before it.  Extended warrently does not matter too much,  heck I still have works orginal Digital Rebel.

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

Thanks for the reply Alan.  Although I was hoping you'd say something other than the end of the month!

I was going to get a warranty since it covers against accidental damage.  Does anyone recommend a warranty?  Of course I'd like to save the $200, but if something happened to it in 4 years it would be nice to get it fixed at no cost.

Right now my Canon HV30 keeps breaking and I've sent it back 3 or 4 times.  My warranty is up in a few days, and now I kinda wished I had bought one.  Other than that I've never had to use a warranty, or really bought one. Would everything be handled by going into the store, or would I have to ship it off every time as I am doing now.  I bought my HV30 through BH Photo and just have the factory 1 year. warranty.

If something happened in 3 years and they didn't have the same model, would I get an upgrade to one of comparable price?  I don't want my warranty to go to waste, but I also don't want to always worry about myself, or someone else, breaking my camera.

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

Personally Sean, I wouldnt buy any aftermarket warranties. If something happens 4 yrs from when you buy it, its pretty much not worth fixing anymore. In 4 yrs technology advances so far that for the same price you paid for the old camera, you'd end up with a camera thats 2-3 times more advanced.

From what I've read on these boards, if something happened 3 yrs and had to be replaced (if you have the appropriate warranty), it would be replaced with an item of comparible specifications, not price.

If any of my Nikons fails or has issues I ship them directly to Nikon myself. I prefer to eliminate the "middleman". My D3 had a shutter failure a bit over a month after buying it. Shipped it back to Nikon (store I bought it from was 4 hours one way) and got it back 2 weeks later, cleaned and with new shutter assembly. I broke the mounts on one of my D300's and the 17-35 F/2.8 when I banged it into a pole while shooting a parade. I had to eat that one (over $400).

Re: Canon T2i...Can someone from Best Buy help!

I have my Digital Rebel for a long time and it still useful. I have thought about getting a new one and desired it oncea full frame Canon DSLR is around $1000-$1200.  5D is way too expensive and well the 7D is not full frame.  But the 1080p movie parts of T2i made me think it's time to purchase it.  It will probably hold me off until a full frame Canon DSLR is in the price range I like.

Extended warrenty is not worth it, Only case I have ever used it was on battery on a notebook.
