Looking for the newly released Canon T2i.

Retail outlets throughout the Twin Cites Metro area are starting to get.

Have on on hold at West Photo and National Camera.

Prefer to buy at Best Buy for the following reasons

1) Reward Points (I am a Silver member)

2) 0% Financing

3) Better extended warranty

Getting any answer so far on release date from BBY has been disappointing.

From staffers BS'ing to others just not wanting to take the time to find out, it has not been a good experience.

Anyone in the Best Buy home office shed light on when the Cameras will arrive?

Hoping it is not a month away...will force me to buy elsewhere......

What "staffers" are you referring to? BB generally does not make public the date they will carry items, not even to their employees.

At a local store a blue shirted employee went to a computer and said they would be in February 28th.

Since than anyone i have spoken to say says they only show what the online release date which is a month away.

I would agree with you the staff is in the dark on release dates, etc.

I often hear them talking about "we don't know" or "we are not told about..."

That information is available to all store employees but only at a certain point in the inventory management process when the items are added to the company inventory database.

If they see there are some coming on the truck, yes. Otherwise, if it's just in the system, that doesn't give an idea when it's coming.

I pre-ordered the T2i on 2/21....I am just as anxious as everyone else.   I am seeing alot of other camera stores throughout the country who have already received shipment and have them available....Its hard to believe that Best Buy still has expected date of 3/28.   A salesgirl in the store in Riverside, CA.  Looked it up in the computer and told me 2/28 as well.  So that date is posted somewhere, for sales associates to be reporting it to customers.

Any product in BB's system has an "in-stock date." I've seen it from when screeshots of BB's inventory system are posted online. That's likely the date they were looking at. However, this date has little to no bearing on when an individual store will receive product.

Does "Pre-ordering" it online give me any better shot at getting it sooner, that the stores would get it in?

Possibly, if BB.com gets it sooner than the stores.
