Camera with an Android OS and optical zoom

The camera needs to be able to download an app that will shoot photospheres. I am looking for an app that is proven to work. I have heard a lot of talk but I haven't seen anything that will actually do the job. I am not saying there is nothing out there. I just haven’t been able to find anyone that can demonstrate the process. If someone knows how this is works and can actually perform the process with the camera I have described above please help me.

Thanks

Hey Bill1975,

I would suggest you look at both the Nikon Coolpix S800c and the Samsung Galaxy EK-GC110. Keep in mind the Nikon has been on clearance for a while now and I don't see any are available to be shipped; this means you would have to hope one is still available in a local Best Buy store near you. The Samsung is available to be shipped and is also on sale.

Thanks,

Re: Camera with an Android OS and optical zoom

Looks like you can install the Android 4.3 Photosphere camera on many different Android devices.

I can't find any report of it being attempted on the Galaxy camera and it won't work on the Nikon Coolpix, so....

A company called D&K Exclusives sells universal zoom lenses that will attach to smartphones, so that may be a route you could take..

As far as an Android Camera with Optical Zoom + Capability to run PhotoSphere, I think you are out of luck for now.
