Camcorder Question

Are there any camcorders that have audio during zooming in? If there are what are some of the names?

Also are there any digital cameras that have any audio during zooming in? If so, what are some the names?

Re: Camcorder Question

Both camcorders I have owned continue to record audio while zooming in.

Canon and Sony

My Nikon DSLR does as well.

Re: Camcorder Question

Hello bgonter17,

As bobberuchi previously mentioned, many if not all camcorders and digital cameras will continue to record video as you zoom into an image. It is a standard feature even on cellular phone cameras. I've included a link below with a list of some camcorders that have audio recording during zoom.

Re: Camcorder Question

To add to the earlier responses...

I recommend camcorders for zooming in with audio on.  The motor noise will be minimal.

Some DSLR's and lenses make a lot of noise during zoom.

Re: Camcorder Question

I agree with @xl  on the zooming. I acutaully have only taken video with my DSLR to test it out and have not tried playback to see if there was noise.

I have anHD video camera and it takes outstanding HD video.  I also would consider looking at a boom mic attachment.

I have one similar to this and it really helps focus the sound recording in a more directional way.  When recording basketbal in particular I would not get as much noise from people to the side.

With a camcorder I never heard the zoom or lost sound. Capture.PNG
