Re: Bridge camera

To clarify... bridge cameras are something between a DSLR and a point 'n shoot.

  • are you looking for a Mirrorless/EVIL camera?
  • a high end compact?
  • do you have already a DSLR?

Re: Bridge camera

If size is an issue... there are smaller and lighter DSLR' like the D3300.

Re: Bridge camera

Best is a matter of opinion.

However, you probaby cannot go wrong with any Canon, Nikon or Sony. I or a family member has owned all three brands and we have all been very happy.

I gave my father a Sony for Christmas and he loves it.  I would look for one with a good optical zoom.

For travel you may also want to look at one that uses AA batteries.  I don' t use one but they are nice so you can get batteries almost anywhere.  I normally carry a second fully charged battery when I leave in the morning.

Other features I like in a travel camera are ones that will boot up fast.
