I'm going to be attending a few concerts this summer, and I'm looking for a light-weight camera. Any suggestions on models and brands?

If you have approval... get a DSLR.  The large sensor will yield the best results.

If you are sneaking it in.... it may be seized at the door.  Check the rules on your ticket.

What's your budget? How lightweight does it have to be? Does the camera need to be pocket sized or can it be a larger?

Take a look at the Canon Elphs.  We have had two and they are very good.  Not a bad price either.

don't get concerned with Digital Zoom, look at the optical zoom.  The differences between the different cameras on the whole is going to be minimal other than Optical Zoom.

I gave my father a Sony for Christmas that takes great photos and has a really good optical zoom.  If an 83 year old man can make it work, nearly anyone can.
