You’re on a beautiful bike ride or run and decide to stop and take a photo on a scenic bridge. You take out your phone and it slips out of your sweaty hands and starts its descent to the river below. Kerplunk!
You’re out at a restaurant with friends and set your phone on the table while you enjoy your meal. Three hours later you arrive home and realize your device isn’t in your pocket or purse. You call the restaurant and they didn’t notice a phone on the table after you left. Poof-gone!
You wrap up work for the night and power down your PC. There’s a nasty storm rolling in, and overnight there’s a power surge. Your home was clearly affected since your device won’t turn on the next morning and it’s completely useless. Zap!
You’re hammering out a school project and have a huge cup of black coffee sitting next to your laptop as you work through the night. You reach over to grab something and misjudge the mug’s position while you’re distracted reading your screen. Before you know it, the piping hot liquid is trickling through your keyboard. Sizzle!
You’re finally able to relax on a family vacation and suit up for a day at the pool. You forget about your phone in your suit pocket and perform the mightiest cannonball of all time. Splash!
You had your phone on your lap while driving to the grocery store. You find a parking spot in the busy lot, step out of the car, and your device slips off your lap as you stand. You helplessly watch it tumble across the rough cement where it finally lands perfectly in front of a passing car. Crunch!

It’s National Kick Butts Day!
Before you start throwing punches, I should probably mention that this has nothing to do with beating people up. Rather, it’s a time to kick cigarette butts to the curb and partake in anti-smoking activism.

The ha-spital.
Okay, okay… that was cheesy. But what else would you expect on National Let’s Laugh Day? Today is a day to remember that you shouldn’t be serious all the time, and laughter is truly the best medicine. According to Mayo Clinic, a good laugh can stimulate many organs including your heart and lungs, activate and relieve your stress response, and aid in muscle relaxation.
There’s lots of things that can trigger a good laugh (like a terrible joke for example – see above), but what really does it for me is a comical show or movie.
