Trolls, and Moana are great kid movies that most parents have seen 1,000 times since their little ones are obsessed with them. Growing up in the 90’s my movie of choice to watch on repeat was The Lion King. I had everything The Lion King themed from the sheets to a Simba necklace I wore everywhere for about a year.
It’s great to know from the reviews on BestBuy.com, and talking with my friends that I’m not the only 90’s kid to be completely stoked about the re-release to Blu-ray DVD as a part of the Walt Disney’s Signature Collection.
Here’s some fun facts about The Lion King you really need to know:
-Pumbaa was the first ever Disney character to fart.
-The movie was originally titled The King of the Jungle.
-It took over three years to animate the wildebeest stampede scene. (R.I.P. Mufusa).
-It was the highest grossing animated movie in history until 2013 when Frozen made it’s debut.
-The movie's plot is loosely based on Shakespeare's Hamlet.
The moment that Simba gets lost in the Elephant grave yard still freaks me out as an adult, and maybe living a life without worry like Timon and Pumbaa is the key to success. You can pick-up a copy of The Lion King: Walt Disney’s Signature Collection at your local Best Buy starting on 8/29, or by purchasing it here on BestBuy.com.
