BOOM! WHACK! POW! Everyone dust off that mask, get your cape from the cleaners, and shine your Infinity Gauntlet, it’s Superhero day! How could it have come at any better time than right after the opening weekend of the fourth installment of the Avengers series, Avengers: Endgame? I haven’t had the chance to see it yet, but I am going to get to the theater sometime this week! No spoilers!

With all the excitement and build up to the latest movie in the saga, it has had me reminiscing about the 22 Marvel films that lead up this point. I still remember walking out of the theater with 3 of my closest friends after seeing Marvel’s The Avengers for the first time, and everyone deciding what great hero they were. I was Iron Man, and we all made super hero sound effects, yells, and moves all the way back to the car (don’t judge).

Like I said, I was Iron Man because he has been my favorite Avenger through these 22 intertwined films. Not only was his film the first in the series that has entertained an unfathomable amount of people, but he was also a billionaire, genius, and hilarious! Robert Downey Jr. played the role like no other could and brought a character to life that millions fell in love with.

Marvel is not the only superhero universe, so since we are speaking of people doing an amazing job bringing characters to life, we have to mention the performance of the late Heath Ledger, and Christian Bale in The Dark Knight. This top 5 superhero movie, in my opinion, gives a glimpse into Gotham City as Batman tries to stop the chaos that Joker aims to cause in the forms of fires, explosions, casualties, and other insane things that would put a smile on his face.

Batman has also had some awesome video games, and the DC Universe definitely has Marvel beat as far games go in my opinion. The Injustice series has been amazing with its 2 installments. Being Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by WB Games, the same as Mortal Kombat, the fights are familiar and seamless, but a bit less gruesome. The finishers are more mild, but every bit as satisfying when you crush your opponent as your favorite hero or villain!

There are infinite ways to spend Superhero day this year, but the only thing that matters in the end is that you have fun! Happy Superhero day to everyone and let us know what your favorite superhero movie is!
