When I think how I want my Mother’s Day to begin, I think of waking up to breakfast, walking a clear path of small toys from my bedroom to the kitchen, and greeted by my three well-groomed kids with smiles on their faces and getting along. If only it were a perfect world. That is right I said, three kids, plus a puppy, and my husband of 14 years. I have been celebrating Mother's Day for at least 13 years, and let me tell you, every year has been different so, I may know a thing or two about the perfect Mother's Day gift. Now, I have thought long and hard on what that could be.

To begin with, every Mother wishes for some quality time to herself, time to read a good e-book, listen to her favorite podcast, streaming digital content that has been saved to watch later, or take the time to pamper herself.

Is your mom always on the go, and doesn’t seem to know where she is going? Trust me that happens to most of us from time to time. There’s nothing like a smartwatch to help keep track of appointments or errands, a GPS to track the time she has left to get to her destination and stop by and pick up a cup of coffee, or a Wi-Fi smart plug to control an attached appliance through a mobile device.

How about the mom that is so attentive to what you eat? That as soon as you begin to crave her homemade macaroni and cheese, she has it ready for you! No doubt that she would enjoy a multi-cooker to help her multitask dinners, an express cooker to speed up the process and have dinner early, or an air fryer to help cook the crispiest pork chops known to mankind, while reducing the oil intake.

Listen, I can sit here and share something for every type of mom. However, it will not help you find the perfect gift for your mother. Let me do you the favor and keep you from continuing to guess. I propose that before Mother’s Day, you sit down with your mom and ask her about herself. The truth is, that if you don't know what to get her it’s because of how well you know her.

Go ahead and treat her to a nice one-on-one conversation, and then stop by your local Best Buy store or visit BestBuy.com to pick out something that will make her day.
