Beyond The Blue

It’s just about summertime again, which means only one thing- winter is coming. That’s right; Game of Thrones is back for season 6! The countless months of restlessness and nightmares has finally come to an end as we all get our collective fix. A lot happened this past season, so there’s a lot to catch up on. SPOILER WARNING for anyone not caught up- for everyone else, let’s get to it!  

First order of business: the death of Jon Snow. The actors and producers of the show have sworn that Jon is really dead, but is he? There are several theories that challenge the idea that Jon is really gone, the first is the R+L=J (Something you can look up on your own), and another that he could possibly be a warg- therefore be able to leave his body and enter his Direwolf Ghost. An important thing to remember is that the Lady Melisandre is at Castle Black and her faith has been demonstrated to be able to resurrect the dead. These are questions that I am very excited to be addressed.

Another point of great concern is how Daenerys Targaryen is going to get out of the mess she found herself in at the end of season 5. At this moment in time, she is hundreds of miles away from her kingdom and any kind of support as she has fallen into the hands of the Dothraki. Jorah Mormont and guy have set out to rescue her and left control of the city in the hands of Tyrian Lannister. It looks like he has his work cut out for him as the city is in extreme unrest as violence is boiling over.

Both the Stark daughters are in predicaments of their own. Sansa Stark has recently fled her home castle with the help of her former “step brother” Theon Greyjoy in order to escape the horrible brutalization at the hands of her new husband. Arya Stark has been punished by the faceless god by being blinded for her murder of someone she did not have permission to kill. Both young women will have to find the strength inside themselves to push forward and regain what they have lost.

There are so many other characters and plotlines going on that I really could keep writing for days, so I think I will leave it at that. HBO subscribers will be tuning in tonight to start their next chapter of this beloved show.
