For all of you out there with soda cans piling up on your old newspapers, we have an important message- RECYCLE IT. Today is the day America gives back to the environment. America Recycles Day is here and we have some information to help you clean up your home, office, yard, and community for a cleaner and safer environment.

At a quick glance, there’re a lot of items around your home that you might not know are recyclable. Did you know that shampoo bottles, food waste, and even mobile phones are a recyclable? Most cities and communities have the process in place to handle a lot of recyclable materials, and it’s up to you to look into what local options are available to you.

While we might not be able to help you out with composting or can crushing, Best Buy has a number of options available to customers seeking to do the right thing with their electronic waste. Near the entrance of almost every store is a bin for electronic waste. Feel free to drop off cords, old phones, that old Walkman that doesn’t work anymore, or just about any small electronic device. For bigger items, our Geek Squad should be able to help you out with the process. Keep in mind, we sometimes offer special promotions for turning things in for recycling- so taking part in the program helps save you money while you help save the environment!
