waiting for my refund

i ordered a keyboard from best buy and during shipment the item / package had hazardous materials irregularity occurred . that was 6/24/2020 . i checked the postal carrier to see if the package were return to store and yes it was returned . next day i got a email saying i’ll get my refund around 10days so i waited for 10-12days to see if i received my refund but when i checked my bank account i didn’t see any . so i stated to chat with best buy agent abut this and ending up chatting with about 10 agent . all 10 agent gave me a how many days , numbers about receiving my refund but they all gave me false information plus they didn’t gave me a reason why this refund process is taking long time . I been waiting month and 2weeks for this . i also doesn’t understand that why i need to wait this long to get my refund? it wasn’t my problem / fault that hazardous materials irregularity occurred to the package during shipment . i’m still waiting for email about refund

Welcome to our forums!  I know whenever I return a purchase, I’m hopeful my refund will get back to me as soon as possible, so I can only imagine how frustrated I would be if it took over a month for those funds to hit my account.  I’m sorry to hear there seems to be a delay with this refund, but I’ll be happy to offer any additional assistance I can.


You mention getting different answers from the chat agents you spoke to previously, so I’d like to clear up any confusion regarding the timeframe you should expect when your order is returned to us by mail.  As outlined in our Return & Exchange Promise, once we receive your return, you should expect the return to be processed within 7-15 business days.  Depending on your bank’s processing time, it may take up to 7 days after we process the return to reflect on your account.


As it sounds like this timeframe has passed, I’d like to look into your order further to make sure everything has been processed correctly.  For me to do so, I’ll ask you to send me a private message with the following information:


  • Your first and last name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your service order number


This should be enough information for me to begin my research.  As you can imagine, we’ll want to keep this sensitive information out of the public view of our forums, so be sure to use the blue “Private Message” button in my signature to send me this information privately.
