so I ordered an item and shipping fees got added on when I switched it but it still said free

so I ordered an item and its free ad on and no where did it say anything about it when I changed the free ad on item to shipping instead of pickup that it would tack on an extra 7.42. I only changed it to shipping because it still said item total was the same free & it was alot faster then pick up. but now its stuck saying its to late to change back which seems a little off since best buy doesnt even work on easter sunday. I would have left it at pickup and just waited had I known it was going to add almost 8 bucks on to a free promotional add on. not sure if there is anything to be done here but thought I would ask as my success in calling the 800 number has not been great in the past

Welcome to our community.  I love a good freebie, and even saving a few dollars on shipping fees can often sway me to make a purchase if I’m on the fence about it.  I’m sure I would be equally as confused if I noticed I was charged for something that was advertised as free, so I’m glad you reached out to us for clarification.


Certain promotions carry strict terms that must be met in order for all conditions of the promotion (such as free shipping, bundled pricing, etc.) to be applied to an order.  By removing the freebie item from your car, this would have negated the bundle pricing and could have impacted your free shipping, particularly if the only item you ordered was below the $35 threshold for free shipping.  Additionally, most orders can only be cancelled within 30 minutes of checking out on  Although our store and corporate teams were not working on Easter Sunday yesterday, our automated systems still were, which would explain why you couldn’t cancel this order as you had hoped.  I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
