Re: phone upgrade question

Were you grandfathered into a certain plan? If you upgrade you could very well lose your current plan and go to Unlimited. I think Verizon has terms and conditions about plans and upgrades.

Re: phone upgrade question

Good afternoon, Werewolf1979,

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for posting your question!  I’m glad you’re interested in upgrading to a new phone with Best Buy, and I’m hopeful we’ll be able to help you get one that will meet your needs!

In regards to your plan once your phone is upgraded, this can vary, depending on your carrier, or the plan you have with them.  While this isn’t something we’d be able to assist with through our Support Forums, if you follow this link to our Cell Phones product page, you should see an option to chat with a Mobile Expert, who may be able to assist.  Alternatively, you can schedule an appointment at your local Best Buy store, to speak with one of our Mobile Experts, and they should be able to answer your questions as well.

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to return to our Support Forums any time.

Regards,

SeanM|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate

Re: phone upgrade question

ok thank you!  reason im asking this is.  well i went  and looked at upgrading my phone. Their site said nothing about needing an unlimited plan so it put me through the process of picking a plan or let me keep my old one.. so  I  kept my 10 gig plan with autopay and such its only like 65 a month.. i use maybe 1 gig a month since i im on wifi 95% of the time..  after everything was done it said like 10.66 a month for my new phone after trade in of my s9+. I clicked on my  new bill seeing what it will be. They will charge me 33 a month and forces me to use  the 80 or 90 dollar unlimited plan. i even pointed this out to the verizon rep what was very rude to me and wouldnt see my point of view what so ever. yes i understand we all need to make money But  fix your site dont call me dumb when it clearly shows the numbers . im gla di didnt hit order  or verizon would be sucking down 145 bucks of my bank account.

Re: phone upgrade question

If you like Verizon, you may want to look at Total Wireless, it is a Verizon based MVNO from Tracfone and it's Only $45 per month on Auto Pay. You get 25gb of data and then it goes to 2G for the rest of the month plus you get 10GB to use on a hotspot.

They give you 50GB cloud storage each month too. Had also came out with 5G just recently.
