my son screwed by Best Buy

NBC on July 15th prime day recommended buying the Apple Macbook for $850 from $1299. Great deal figuring it would  last my son all through high school. I ordered the silver macbook got an email thanking me for my order and it is in progress. Being "IN  Progress" i thought meant that they were expecting and shipment soon and being that school isn't starting till after labor day i can wait for next shipment. A couple phone calls checking on shipment and checking shipping status on line.Then on August 14th i get an email stating "shipping Delay" basically saying i am not getting it.

I called and spoke to customer service and asked to switch to the gold color which is available. They said sure but  the price is $1299. I asked to speak to supervisor. The first time i called the supervisor was to call me back that never happened. the second call i asked to speak to supervisor i got disconnected after waiting 25 min. the worst customer care center.

 

If Best Buy said it was sold out from the beginning i would have bought another computer from another company as they were many great deals that day.

 

I did nothing wrong except trust that Best Buy would honor the sale at the price i bought it at. I would even take the gold.

 

My son was excited to get such a great computer now i have to tell him he isn't getting it. Thanks

 

I did send a complaint to NBC not to recommend Best Buy's products or promotions and thanked them for the aggravation!

Welcome to our Best Buy Support Forum. I appreciate you reaching out to us regarding the MacBook order you placed recently with us. While being a student having a good computer is important, so I can appreciate wanting to take advantage of the great deal we had on the MacBook. After getting such a great deal, I realize getting the shipping delay email is not an ideal situation, and I'd like to look into this with you to see what might be going on.
