fraudulent purchase

Someone placed an order online using my account and my Best Buy credit card associated with my account yesterday. Per the emails I received, it seems like the person initially placed the order with my shipping address and later changed it to another address that's not on my account. I've cancelled the order and changed my password, but there are many personal information on my account that may have been breached. What can I do?

Re: fraudulent purchase

If you have not already done so, you should ensure that the card that was compromised is disabled and a replacement issued.

In addition to changing your password, you should set up two factor authentication. That way if your password is compromised again the perpetrators still cannot login without the two factor code.

What type of information are you concern with being breached from within your account? Don’t be specific with the details, just generally speaking is fine.

Re: fraudulent purchase

Thanks!! Filed it with identitytheft.gov as best buy didn't really help at all.

Re: fraudulent purchase

Best Buy is not an investigatory body, so it makes sense to report incidents to those that are.
