egift card failed authorized - balance never refunded

I placed an order where I tried to pay for part of the order with a $50 gift card. I thought the order went through but I received an email shortly after that said we are unable to process your payment. I checked the status and it said a failed authorization for the gift card. So I canceled the order. I thought this meant that the gift card was never charged and everything thing was fine.but when I checked the balance it said $0. My gift card balance still shows a balance of $0 even though its almost been a week. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Re: egift card failed authorized - balance never refunded

Good afternoon, rallenf2013,

Welcome to our forums!  Generally speaking, the funds from your Best Buy gift card should be available to you again within 30 minutes after your order is cancelled, so I’m sorry to hear there seems to be a delay in getting these funds back to your card.

I’d like to take a closer look into your order and offer any additional assistance I can, however, there’s just a few pieces of additional information I’ll need from you in order to do so.  If you could use the blue “Private Message” button in my signature to send me the following information:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your order number
  • Your gift card number

As mentioned, be sure to use the blue “Private Message” button in my signature to send me this information and ensure it’s not visible in the public view of our Support Forums, and if you’re accessing our site on a mobile device, you may need to switch to “Full” or “Desktop” view before this button is visible to you.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
