Unreasonably long time to process a return and then refuse to accept the product!

I purchased a laptop on April 24, 2020, and after realizing it would not meet my needs, returned it the same day. I spoke to Best Buy about the return on April 24, and they authorized the return. They instructed me to ship the product back to them, which I did.

 

I never received any reply or confirmation from Best Buy about the return after shipping it back, and never received a credit on my account. I called to research this, and waited for months and months with still no reply. I sent several messages to Best Buy through my account, and did not get an answer. After OVER A YEAR I received a mysterious package in the mail. It was the laptop!

 

Best Buy returned the laptop to me with a letter stating that they do not accept returns on final sale merchandise. The interesting point about this is that it was NOT a final sale item. It was an open box item, with the condition stated as "open box excellent". Nowhere on the product or the order was final sale ever indicated. And Best Buy had approved the return the day I shipped it back! 

 

I am shocked that Best Buy would actually hold the laptop for over 13 months and then decide to ship it back to me! That is just completely unacceptable and ridiculous. I don't even know what to do next, so I'm turning to the forums.

 

Please let me know how to get rid of this awful laptop and receive the credit that is due to me. Thank you!
