Unlocked iPhone SE?

I notice I can't select one on the page that's up already. You think they'll add an unlocked option tomorrow when orders begin?

Re: Unlocked iPhone SE?

Doesn't look like Unlocked is an option at the moment.  You can probably buy one outright at full price, but that just means the device is Universal and would likely be locked to the carrier whose SIM card you first use with the device.

Re: Unlocked iPhone SE?

What I ended up doing is taking advantage of the fact they had a "Activate Later" option for the AT&T 64GB version ONLY (for some reason) and then I'll just exchange it for a 256 once it's out (if that works).

Re: Unlocked iPhone SE?

Not a bad plan.  Just keep in mind that cell phones almost always have a 14-day return period, even during the holidays and the current return/exchange extensions in place due to COVID-19.  Cell phones also have a $45 restocking fee, unless they're completely unopened.

Oh NOW they're selling unlocked phones!

>_<!! Why couldn't that have been up when it launched?!

Re: Unlocked iPhone SE?

Generally, Best Buy does not get unlocked versions of the latest phones on launch day.  Apple usually holds them back for themselves for at least the 1st month and does not share these with other Authorized Retailers.  My guess?  Apple decided to allow Best Buy to have them early due to coronavirus and all the Apple Retail locations being closed.

Re: Unlocked iPhone SE?

POSTMORTEM: Why did I even buy this phone at Best Buy? APPARENTLY Best Buy no longer honors Apple prodcuts for reward point credit! This purchase would have put me over the Elite threshold!
