Uniden Police Scanner BestBuy.com Purchase

I order a Uniden BCD996P2 Digital Mobile Trunk Tracker V Scanner on May 26, 2019. I opted for Standard Shipping to Charlotte NC. it said I would receive the delivery by June 6, 2019.

I followed up on Monday May 27, 2019 to see if the item had shipped yet. I was told 3 different things by 2 different Best Buy representatives over the phone:

1. The item has been packaged and is ready to be shipped

2.The order has been acknowledged by Best Buy and has been sent to the manufacturer for processing. The item will be shipped from the Manufacturer to the Best Buy Warehouse then shipped to your address. Your estimated delivery date is by June 6, 2019.

3. The order has been acknowledged by Best Buy and has been sent to the manufacturer for processing. The item will be shipped directly from the manufacturer then shipped to your address. Your estimated delivery date is by June 6, 2019.

I am very confused and upset. I am also an Elite Member. I thought we get Scheduled Delivery.

When I asked if I could pay for expedited shipping I was told NO ALL 3 TIMES.

This was a business purchase And I really need this item ASAP. I Can't keep getting the Run around from Best Buy Phone representatives who are BASED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATE'S.

I want to know who is shipping my item. I was told it was the manufacturer but I spoke with the manufacturer (Uniden) and they don't do business with Best Buy

Thanks for confirming your phone number for me!

 

In reviewing your order, I’m seeing that the item is special ordered for you. This means that the item should be coming directly from the vendor. I can see how some people may interchange the terms vendor and manufacturer when speaking about special order products, as it’s my understanding that many manufacturers can also be vendors. That may not be the case for Uniden, so, if this interchange in terminology caused confusion, I’m quite apologetic.

 

Regarding current status, I’m seeing that the purchase order has been fully created and sent over to the vendor where it should be in the process of being fulfilled. Once the vendor ships the product, you should receive an email update and the status of your order should also move forward when viewing that on your account or as a guest on our website. As of right now, our systems are estimating delivery on June 6, but the most accurate delivery date estimate will come from the carrier once the item officially ships out from the vendor.

 

Regarding credit card charges for online orders, while Best Buy’s systems should automatically check to see if funds are available to pay for an order, customers should not be officially charged (when paying with a credit card) until the order begins the fulfillment process. In this case, that would mean that you should see the charge when the vendor updates us that they have shipped your item. Depending on your bank or credit card’s internal policies, you may see an authorization drop and then reapply before you are charged.

 

It looks like you used multiple forms of payment on this order. The $50 gift card amount was collected when you placed the order, which aligns with what we would expect. As for the credit card, I’m seeing an initial authorization for $329.65. It appears that you requested to cancel your order with another agent but they were only able to cancel the Geek Squad Protection Plan (GSP). This took away $40.06 in authorization, leaving only $289.59 successfully authorized on our end. As I mentioned, authorizations can drop and then reapply before you are officially charged, depending on your financial institution.

 

All of this said, if you don’t want to wait for fulfillment of your order and would prefer to cancel, I would be happy to see what I can do to help with that. I see that the initial cancellation attempt that you requested didn’t work, so I cannot guarantee success, but do want to see what may be possible if you truly still want to cancel.
