On April 17, 2020 a charge in the amount of $3023.99 was made to bank account form BESTBUY.COM. I did not make this purchase and need to know who, what, and why this ocurred. I have sent a fraud dispute to my bank and deactivated my debit card, however due to the amount, it could be a while till i see these funds back to my account. My concern is how does this happen with Best Buy, what security protocols do you have in place to verify the user of the card...............SOUNDS LIKE NONE. I am attempting to to contact Best Buy to stop this transaction, to refund my account and prevent the loss to Best Buy, however no one cares at BEST BUY. I was on hold to chat and finally when i got someone, i was told to call the generic number, after getting passed around for 20 minutes, i finally got to a dept that said hold times where over an hour. I started this process last night and have continued this morning. YOUR FRAUD Dept needs to be staffed with more people. Your company took over $3000 out of my checking account during this COVID-19 pandemic due to your lack of proper security protocols and verification of identification, why arent you being accountable for your lax online shopping payment methodology. I need this situation to be rectified, and as i said i trying to help Best Buy prevent a loss to your bottom line. Please contact me ASAP

Good afternoon, dstine15,
Welcome to our community forums. I apologize for the delay in responding, we are working as quickly as possible to respond to all of the messages we have received. Having had my identitty stolen, I know how stressful it can be to get everything resolved. I'm very glad to hear that you were able to get in touch with our fraud team. As they mentioned, I would recommend filing a police report as well as making sure your bank is aware of this charge so you can dispute it.
Please know, you will not normally be contacted as this investigation continues. Best Buy will cooperate with the police investigation into this charge. I would also recommend changing your passwords for your My Best Buy account and email address. You can find more details here.
Please let us know if you have more questions, we'll be happy to help as much as possible.
