I recently made a purchase for a video game, but decided to cancel it because I forgot to add something else to the purchase and didn't want separate orders. As I did that when I log into my credit card account to look at my statement it said I have two pending $13.14 charges. I wanted to know what those charges were for if the video game was around $50.

Good Afternoon nomodfx709,
Welcome to the Best Buy Support Online Forum Community! I appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your cancelled order concerns with us. I understand noticing a charge for your cancelled orders is frustrating. My sincere apologizes for my delayed response due to the holiday season we’ve been busier than usual. I’d be happy to see how I can assist you further at this time.
As shared in our Conditions of Use at the time of purchase your form of payment should only be authorized, and then charged your purchase has been shipped or set aside for you. It’s odd to hear that you were seeing a charge for $13.14 twice, but your purchase price for your order was closer to $50. Any charge you might’ve seen on your end should’ve been an authorization which would be removed at your financial institution’s discretion. You’re welcome to review our Cancel Your Order help guide which shares more information regarding authorizations.

Thanks for your additional question! I’d be happy to help you answer your question. Subscription service refunds can take up to 1-2 billing cycles to be seen on your end depending on your financial institution.
Please let me know if you have any further questions! I’d be delighted to help you answer them.

So I won't be able to see a change in 1-2 billing cycles? I thought refunds or in this case credit changes would only take up to 5-7. I called customer service a week prior to the 29th and that is what the representative had told me would happen. My concern is I wouldn't want to pay the total price for an item I don't have anymore and the extra interest since I had returned the item before the next cycle.
Also, I was wondering will Best Buy send an email when the change occurs? Or does it all depend on the financial institution and I would just have to check with them?

As I shared with you prior it can take up to 1-2 billing cycles depending on your financial institution, however, you can a refund within 7-9 business days. I apologize if my response caused any further confusion. I highly suggest if you don’t see your refund within 7-9 business days to simply ask your financial institution what their policies on refunds of this kind typically look like.
You won’t be receiving an email noting when the refund occurs as it’s not associated with an order, but with a contract which the cancellation of such is processed differently. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
