I received a SteelBook a few days ago and learned it was damaged. When attempting to request a shipping label online to return it, I am only able to return the item to the store. Why can I not ship the item to return it?

Returning items by mail can make things much easier when you have a busy schedule, and we’re proud to offer the self-service option to return items by mail for most BestBuy.com orders. I’m sorry to hear that you discovered damage on your new SteelBook, but I’ll be happy to offer some insight here.
It’s likely that you were not able to generate a return label for your SteelBook due to the fact that media (such as software, movies, music, and games) can only be exchanged for an identical item once opened per our Return & Exchange Promise. Since our website wouldn’t have a way to determine whether or not your SteelBook had been opened, we’ll need you to stop by your local Best Buy store to process this exchange.
I realize this may not be the most expedient option, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
