I returned my order about 20 days ago and received an email asking me to retrieve the refunded gift card, but the system just keeps telling me the information provided to retrieve the card is incorrect.
Called the customer support multiple times, the first person told me to wait for 10 days and the refunded gift card will be mailed to me - but it has never arrived. Called the customer support again, and the representative told me I have to contact my friend who send me the gift card, and my friend needs to contact the gift card seller - THIS JUST DOES NOT MAKE SENSE AT ALL. I RETURNED MY PRODUCT AND CAN'T GET THE REFUND???
So disappointed about the service and different customer service people just telling me different stories.

That's funny. My understanding of this would be that when you return an item you don't have to go through all that to provide a number that it would be automatically sent back to the original method of payment when the return is processed.
Did you verify this was an authentic site that asked for this information because a lot of times scam sites would display an invalid message but the scammer records the numbers.

Thanks for the reply! I confirmed with Best Buy customer service, it's an authetic website and the refunded amount is going to a new gift card instead of returning back to orginal one.
Sigh... It's so weired and the customer support is so irresponsible...

Welcome to our forums! It’s disappointing to hear there may be some confusion regarding the status of your refund from your recent return with us, but I hope I'll be able to offer some additional clarification regarding the refund process.
As hockeycanuckjc mentioned, if your order was paid for by gift card, your funds would automatically go back to your original gift card, so I apologize if this information was not relayed to you accurately during your previous contacts with our other support teams. This information is also outlined in our Return & Exchange Promise, and I’ll include the relevant text below:
Refund method and timing
With a few exceptions, we will reimburse you for returned items in the same way you paid for them. If you prefer, you can make an exchange for the same item.
For returns by mail, once we receive your return, we will process it within 7–10 business days. Depending on your bank's processing time, it may take up to 7 days after we process the return to reflect on your account.
If you paid more than $800 in cash or more than $250 by check or by a debit card without a major credit card logo, we will refund you by check within 10 business days. Any amounts deducted from a gift card will be credited to the gift card. If you no longer have the gift card used for an order, please call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) with your order number handy, and we'll be happy to send you a replacement.
With that said, I’m happy to hear our support teams have arranged in getting a replacement gift card sent to you, and I’m optimistic you’ll be receiving the replacement card soon.
