I just bought a new Sony TV (model KD-55X80K). Since I purchased the TV, my FireStick apps don't work. The Firestick itself loads, I can select and open apps, but once I get into the app, no videos will play. The only app that does not have this issue is Netflix. HBO, Peacock, Paramount, Disney+ are all not working. I have done all troubleshooting steps for the firestick, TV, and router/internet and still having the issue. Is anyone else having this issue and able to help out?

What resolution and format is your firestick set to? 4K HDR? Did you enable the HDMI on the tv to allow for enhanced formats?

Yes, when I first plugged in the FireStick it asked me to do that and I did so. It actually worked for a day or so and then the apps mentioned no longer work.

Have you rebooted the firestick since this problem occurred?

Yes - I have done all of the recommendations from Amazon including rebooting the router, restarting the firestick, resetting to facotry defaults, clearing the cache on the apps that aren't working, etc. None have worked. Amazon claims the issue is not with the firestick and there is not a problem with the internet connection

If you have done all of that, do you have another source to test if the hdmi is even working?

Yes, my gaming console works in that port. Additionally, the firestick works in the HDMI (i.e. it opens the home page and Netflix even works) it just won't load the video. I think it has something to do with the TV because i have never had a problem with this until we installed the new TV

I get that. So we have a signal issue that affects just certain apps on a certain device. I'm not positive it's the tv based on that information. I also don't like when any company immediately says it's the other device. Internet Service Providers do this all the time to weasel out of their obligations, it sounds like the Firestick people are doing the same. What are the current video settings on the Firestick? I would like to know resolution, colorspace, and HDR/SDR. Are you using the short adapter HDMI or is the Firestick plugged directly to the TV?

Reso: set to Auto (up to 4K Ultra HD)
Color Depth: 8 bits
Color Format: Auto
Dynamic Range Settings: Always HDR
I am using the short adaptar as well.
Not sure if that covered everything you were looking for.

The first thing I would do if possible is eliminate the adapter, I know the Firestick is big and doesn't always fit directly to the port. You may considering swapping for one of the other ports or temporarily unplugging devices to either side in order to bypass the adapter. Those are built rather cheaply and can cause issues. If the problem continues I would lock the resolution at 4k HD and leave HDR enabled. If that fails, disable HDR and see if it works. If it doesn't, lower the resolution from 4K to 1080P, then keep lowering it until it works. Let me know what works and what doesn't.
Lastly, just to be clear the Firestick doesn't pass through a surround sound receiver or soudbar does it? It just plugs into the tv directly, correct? If not, I would also temporarily bypass any external devices. If it works after bypassing, it could be a setting on the device bypassed.
