So is Best Buy’s stance on Covid that it isn’t an issue?

I had an item that was supposed to be returned 2 weeks ago. I was busy during the return period and pushed it to the last moment but i got COVID3 days before the return period ended. Obviously i care about the people who I could infect so i quarantined and didn’t stop showing symptoms for 2.5 weeks. I messaged best buy and they literally said 1) i should have went out and returned the item anyway and 2) find someone to come into your quarantine so they can return it for you (which is even worse since that one person is going to be in such close proximity of you.

His responses made it clear that Bes t Buy doesn’t care about the current state of the world and it’s kind of disgusting

The return window does not provide any approved reasons for exceptions, it is either 15, 30, or 45 days based on your MyBestBuy Elite status. It’s up to the management at the location you visit to approve or deny exceptions to the published policy, some are willing to do so while others are not. Unfortunately, waiting to make a return can lead to issues like this. If they are unwilling to make an exception, they are still following the agreed to return policy printed on receipts and posted in store.

The CEO made a statement last year saying there will be extensions on returns yet the company never made a change, That’s very disappointing that a company can be so tone deaf during a time like this.

They did make a change for a few months. It has changed back to normal now that a vaccine is widely available.
