I ordered an item on Bestbuy.com on a Friday evening. While I knew that they had this item in stock at a Best Buy Store around 30 minutes from me, I elected to go with the free delivery option which stated that my item would be shipped to me by Sunday (two days later).
Sunday evening came around and I had not yet received my purchase. I logged into my account to find that Bestbuy was shipping my purchase to me via a gig delivery service known as Roadie. Apparently, a gig was created but the Roadie Driver never showed up to pick it up.
Now it's Monday afternoon, and I sitll have not received my purchase. I leave on vacation on Wednesday. I specifically ordered this item to have on my vacation, but now it looks like I may not even receive it by then. I called the Best Buy 1-800 number to inquire on the status of the shipment. I was transferred twice (spoke to 3 people), just to have them tell me that it could now be up to TWO WEEKS before I receive my purchase.
At this point, I just want to cancel my purchase so that I can drive to the store and purchase the item there and still have it for my vacation. But all three people with Best Buy that I spoke to said that the purchase cannot be cancelled because it is pending delivery with Roadie. After I was transferred twice, I finally got a "supervisor" on the phone who said that they would look into getting the order cancelled for me and would call or email me within 3 hours. It's now been over 4 hours and I have not heard back from anyone.
So to summarize, my purchase that was supposed to arrive in 2 days may now not arrive for 13 days. On top of that, I have no ability to cancel the order so that I can drive to my local store and purchase it instead. I also wasted over an hour on the phone just to have someone promisei ot get back to me and then not do so. It's looking like I may not have the purchase for my vacation, which is the whole reason I bought it. What a huge disappointment. I'm looking forward to sharing this experience everywhere possible if I don't hear back from someone with Best Buy immediately.
