Same-day delivery

I placed my online order at 2:38 PM on 12/21/17. According to their policy, since I ordered before 3 pm, I should have received my order by 9 Pm. I've been checking status all evening and it hasn't changed from "Preparing". I could have picked it up in store - with some inconveniences. But website made it look and sound so easy to choose ship to home same day. Now, at 10 PM, I don't know whether to stay up waiting for my expensive game console purchase or go to sleep and drive to the store to pick it up tomorrow morning. I also tried calling the store more than once, but of course, automated answer, on hold for 15-20 minutes minimum. Very disappointed at terrible experience and inability to access someone for support/customer service. Did not expect this from large well-known store.

On Dec. 22nd I went to the store to cancel my ordee and purchase in store instead. After 45 minutes waiting I was told that I couldn't cancel because the items had already been shipped. At 2:34 AM on Dec. 23, I still don't have the items nor have I received email updates regarding my order and the status on the Bestbuy.com website still says "Preparing". I understand it's a busy holiday season, but at least they should not advertise Same Day Delivery if they are unable to fulfill orders.

It is the end of Nov. 23. My items that were supposed to be delivered by 9 pm on Dec. 21 (same day delivery) have still not arrived. I haven't received any email updates nor has the status changed from "Preparing" on Bestbuy.com. Waiting on my items so I can take them back and get a full refund.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post! As more companies offer it, I’ve made use of same-day delivery a few times. It’s certainly a convenient service. I do, however, regret to hear that you may not have experienced this same convenience. I’ll definitely want to look into this!

 

Using the information you provided when you registered for the forums, I believe I was able to locate the order in question. It appears, as you stated, that our delivery partner did not make the delivery on December 21. Obviously this would not seem to fit the definition of same-day delivery. At this point, it looks like a return was made on the products. I certainly apologize that this was your experience with the service. While I can’t change what happened, we can hope to use situations like this to work with our delivery partners to prevent future customers from being disappointed as you surely were.
