I purchased something online and was sent the wrong item. I would like to return it but when I setup the return, it looks like I have to pay for return shipping. I was wondering if you could assist with this.
Also, I used two gift cards for this payment, one was used up and I threw it away. So, I would like to either put the amount on the other gift card or put points on my Best Buy account. Could someone assist with this as well?

Do you know the card numbers of the gift cards you used? They may be able to replace it if you can provide proof of the cards.
Typically, when a refund is processed, refunds are processed to the original methods of payments. So yes Gift Cards are replaceable up to the balance that was reported at the time of it being lost.
Please note if you were sent a wrong item, this would be Best Buy's fault and in this case you would need to call 1-888-BEST-BUY for return instructions. '
They can also make any other accomodations you need for return of gift card balance and or replacement.
You will never be responsible for an item that was sent by a mistake by Best Buy

I do not have the original card. It was emptied and then thrown away, so it is like a 50/50 chance that it goes to the right or wrong one.
As for having to call the number, I went through the system and I selected the option that the wrong item was sent and it gave me a return label. Do I still need to call the number?

If you use the prepaid return label, the cost of the return shipping fee may be deducted from your refund. You are welcome to visit your local store and process a return at no additional charge.
If you disposed of the physical gift card, there is no need to worry, once we receive the product and apply for the refund, we can reissue a new gift card with the return balance. With my commute and where I work, returning the item to the store (as well as standing in line) isn't really an option for me. I have had customer service specialists send me a pre-paid label and I can just print it off and return it. Can we do the same in this situation?
