Return missing in transit

hi, back in August I placed an order and returned it using the return shipping label Bestbuy provided me. I received an empty box from Bestbuy with a letter saying that I cannot be issues a refund because I sent an empty box.I have proof I did not send an empty box because I saved my scanned drop off receipts that UPS provided me when I drop off the package. When comparing the weight on my receipt you can see that the weight changed during transit. I started a claim with UPS. UPS concluded their investigation and bestbuy is telling me I need to contact ups for the conclusion and ups tells me I need to contact Bestbuy. This case has been going on since August. I never got any emails that Bestbuy said they would send to me. I have multiple case numbers that customers service reps keep providing me instead of just finishing the first one they keep making new ones for me. I would like to know how Bestbuy concludes their investigation in the cases. I have documentation that the item was taken out of the box in transit because of the weight change this is something that you can see when you look up the tracking number. I have so many case number and it’s been 6 months no resolution. Today I called and got another case number. I would just like someone to provide me information because when I call I just get told I will get information about my case via email. I have never since Aug got one email or phone call from BestBuy regarding me case. Any info is appreciated. Thank you
