I preordered a Xbox Series X on 9/22 and never received it. Long story short Bestbuy customer service finally stated they lost it after weeks of talking with them. Last Wednesday a customer service rep stated I would receive a refund in 3-5 business days. Now after speaking with another representative today they stated it will take and entire billing cycle to receive the refund. Is this actually how long it takes? I have been receiving mixed responses from the customer service representatives. It just seems kind of ridiculous that I have to pay my credit card bill for an item bestbuy lost and then wait to be reimbursed. This entire process has been a huge inconvenience and is making me reconsider being a best buy card holder.

Once a refund has been processed to a credit card, it can take up to one full billing cycle to show on your statement, but typically will reflect in the account sooner. This can depend on your banking institution so I would recommend contacting them directly for more specific details.

I contacted my card company and they stated they process the refund in 3-5 days once they recieve it. I dont understand why it takes a full billing cycle to return my money. My item was lost by best buy and now Im supposed to go up to a month without the money and have to pay my credit card bill for an item I never recieved. In my 15+ years of ordering items online I have never heard of such a policy. How is this even legal? Bestbuy has had my money since 11/10 and now I'm supposed to wait another 20 + days to recieve a refund. I can understand a refund taking long if you make a return but since Bestbuy was at fault 100% my refund should be expediated and I should be compensated for the inconvenience. Would you be able to check to see if my refund has even been processed because everytime I speak to representative I get told a different story?
