It has been since Sept 16 of this year that I am trying to resolve a problem with a damaged gift card from Best Buy, but no luck. THe card was bought from a 3rd party vendor, and no one wants to take responsibility for it. I have contacted the BBB, FTC, and every agency that I can think of. I contacted the CEO of Best Buy last week (letter) and have yet to receive a response. I have posted on yelp and every place I can think of. Best Buy has been nasty to me everytime I have called living up to their reputation of having one of the worse CS supports. I am looking for any help that I can get. I will be going to my bank on Monday to see if they can help me. Any suggestions???

Good afternoon, debcallahan,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our community forums. It's always great to have a gift card so I can understand your disappointment to discover that this gift card was damaged. I would be glad to give you some more information on how to get assistance moving forward.
As previous agents may have mentioned, we are unable to provide assistance in replacing a gift card that was purchased at a third party retailer. I would recommend working with the store location where you made this purchase to see what options are available at this time.
I apologize that we are unable to further assist you with this. Please let us know if we can help with any unrelated matters.
Regards,

CVS is also not able to refund or replace the card. They say that it is Best Buy's responsibility. I have been getting the run around since September 16th. The BBB when I reported CVS said that I should contact Best Buy and all they could do was to have best buy put a freeze on it. When I reported Best Buy to the BBB, they said that Best Buy refuses to do anything else. I have contacted The Federal Trade Commission, , Consumer Fraud, Illinois Attorney General, Internet Crimes, Channel 5 & 7 Investigative reporters, I have contacted my alderman and the executive officers of both CVS & Best Buy -- because of the COVID no one has gotten back to me except BBB and that was a complete Goose Egg. I am now reaching out to my senator for help in this.
I don't see why the place where this was purchased makes a difference. If I bought a gift card for Kohls at CVS, i coud go to any kohls and use it. Best Buy has my money.
I have the receipt and the old card. This is outright stealing.

Good evening, debcallahan,
Welcome back to our forums. As my colleague, Andrew, has mentioned, we recommend continuing to work with CVS to explore what options may be available towards obtaining a replacement gift card. As it sounds like you’re aware, these gift cards are fulfilled and distributed by a third-party company, and as such, we’ll be unable to offer you a replacement.
Respectfully,
