Re: Double charged and no resolve I'm done with Best Buy

Yes this just happened to me on black friday. I will post my FULL EXPERIENCE in another post. I've called almost everyday. I've spoken to 2/3 supervisors they are saying on the audit report it show the financial institution failed the authorization which is FALSE info now they are not returning my request for a call back. They are BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. Im glad I decided to do more research to validate that this was caused by best buy.

Re: Double charged and no resolve I'm done with Best Buy

Hello, alew20,

Thank you for joining us here on the Best Buy Forums, although I am sad to hear about the circumstances of which you joined. I'm disheartened to hear that your experience has been less than ideal, and I'd like to do all that I can to assist with this, and hope to shed light on our authorization process.

An authorization hold will be placed on your credit or debit card when you place an order. An initial authorization is done at time of purchase and is removed and releases the authorization after a few days. Best Buy will then re-authorize that amount 5 days prior to release date. Your account will not actually be billed until your order is shipped, delivered or picked up at the store.

With that said, the time required to remove the authorization is determined by the financial institution that issued your card. Since reaching out to our team, have you been in touch with your banking institution regarding this? Let me know, as I'd be glad to assist however possible.

Best Regards,
