Price matching complaint.

[ Edited ]

I bought an Apple Macbook Pro on February 24, 2019 for $1699. I saw it today March 2, 2019 on Amazon for $1599. I went to the store in Daytona Beach where I boughti t today (within 15 day price match) and was told they would not price match because at the time I bought the computer, I saved $20 by bundling Microsoft Word.  So, I saved $20 but lost $100. That is crazy and the price matching policy is quite misleading. As a long time Best Buy customer I deserve better than that. I would have returned the computer but having installed Word already, I would end up losing more money. I am requesting that the $100 be put into my Best Buy credit card which account is under this same email adress. Thank you. Mitchel {removed per forum guidelines}

Re: Price matching complaint.

I may be wrong, but I thought they only price match competitors at the time of purchase. They would price match themselves if bestbuy lowered the price during your return period.

Re: Price matching complaint.

They have the written policy to price match up to 15 days after purchase.

Re: Price matching complaint.

At the time of sale,
we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com.
We match BestBuy.com prices on in-store purchases and in-store prices on BestBuy.com purchases.

If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.

That is from their web site, notice the "at time of sale"

Re: Price matching complaint.

Hi, Mitchel,

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums, and for reaching out about our Price Match Guarantee.

As nckhammond noted, we are only able to price match competitors at the time of sale. If our own price falls during the price match period, we can price match it. We will not match the prices of our competitors, except for on the original transaction.

A bundle such as the Microsoft office bundle you got would also exclude the product from being able to be price matched. If the price was available at the time of sale, you would have had the option of the bundle, or the price match, just so you are aware going forward.

If any of that is unclear, please let me know. I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Sincerely,

Kyle R|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate
