Price match blackout period?

So I bought a galaxy watch at BB for a Christmas present on 11/12 and it’s now 20 bucks less on the BB site. I called to get the 20 dollar difference price match and was told there is a blackout period for price match. Bottom line - they cannot do this for me. Not till after the 28th anyway. Of course the watch price will likely go up then. So while I can kind of understand the need for this policy - it’s kind of ridiculous that I can simply return the watch and rebuy it for 20 bucks less. But I can’t simply call and get a credit for the 20 bucks on the original purchase to make it easier on me - the customer. It just seems like BB isn’t keeping the customers best interest in mind when they come up with policies like this….very disappointed! This kind of squashes the assurance to buy early with no concerns that BB touts. Glad it’s only 20 bucks.

Re: Price match blackout period?

Hello, Jdjax,

Thanks for reaching out on the forums. As a budget minded individual, I understand why you be disappointed in the Price Match Guarantee blackout, under not shown on our exclusions list. It's the biggest shopping event of the year for retailers. where pricing is on special discounts and quantity are limited. We do offer sales and special shopping event through the season to help with your purchasing, that way you don't miss out.

Hopefully, this helps your understanding of the blackout and why sometimes it may be worth purchasing before black Friday.

Happy holidays

Re: Price match blackout period?

Not sure the response makes sense but thanks for responding anyway. I think it’s the principle more than the 20 dollars. I don’t think it builds confidence to buy early for the holiday at BB and then see the price go lower at BB and know your only recourse to get the better price is to return the item and repurchase it. From the same seller! Doesn’t that sound crazy? That’s what this policy does however. Makes it harder for the shopper. Happy Holidays

Re: Price match blackout period?

I ended up with several items that were on sale when I bought them but the price dropped even lower during BF week. I spoke to the customer service desk at my local BB and they confirmed the only approach to get the lower prices is to buy the items again and to return the original items - that is the only way to get the lower price even with the price match because they can’t honor the price match during the blackout period. So that’s what I did. Good grief though - why? Why make it so hard on your customers? Why not just honor the price match if someone asks for it regardless of when (within limits) - and get rid of this ridiculous policy ….if the item is still returnable then it should be price matched if requested - period.
