Posting My Story - Initiated Return, Best Buy took Refrigerator, Money never processed to my CC

On September 21st, 2019 I completed an online order to Best Buy. The order included a Whirlpool - 21.3 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator - Monochromatic Stainless Steel and Samsung - 5.8 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Range - Stainless steel oven. The total came to $1,769.04. A $95.61 Service fee was included for the install. On 9/21 my Citi Card was charged $1864.65 for the total.

 

We received the refrigerator and oven on October 17th, 2019. Upon inspection of the refrigerator, we noticed it did not have the purified water dispenser that the website describes it having. On October 31st, we initiated a return within Best Buy’s 14 day appliance return policy. They accepted and came to pickup the refrigerator on November 9th, 2019. We were happy with the oven and kept it.

 

They proceeded to reimburse the $95.61 for the for the install of the refrigerator. The return of the $95.61 is noted on the Citi Card’s November statement on 10/31. I then proceeded to wait for my next two statements for the refund of the $1099.68 for the refrigerator. This refund never came.

 

I proceeded to contact Best Buy multiple times. They insisted that they have processed the refund. Best Buy attempts to connect me with higher level purchasing departments and tells me to wait for a phone call but when I wait 24-48 hours the call never comes. Customer support does not seem interested in looking further into it as the front end system shows the refund.

 

I have compiled all of the information, receipts, and statements and started contacing my credit card company to push forward because Best Buy has not been helpful. I believe the problem happened because we called a local store to initiate the return and it caused a problem with a refund from the online order.
