Payment Reversal Confirmation

Good day.

I made an online purchase of over $500, which amount has been debited from my account. The order was subsequently cancelled by bestbuy, due to an inability to confirm customer details (I assume the problem relates to me being an international customer).

Notwithstanding the cancellation, the payment has not been reversed. You advise that it can take up to a maximum of 10 business days to make the reversal, which I have no problem with, I just require confirmation that the process is underway. I don't want to wait the 10 days only to find out that the process hasn't begun.

I await your response so that I can PM you the transaction details.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forum. I can definitely understand wanting to make sure that your refund is processed and back in your account as quickly as possible.


Our Return & Exchange Promise calls out that in most cases, we will reimburse you for returned items in the same way you paid for them. In terms of how long it takes for your refund to process, once a return has been initiated, Best Buy releases the funds to your financial institution within minutes. It is then up to your bank to process the refund and place the funds back into your account. Most of the time, this doesn't take more than a few business days, but it can take up to one full billing cycle depending on your bank. I'd recommend reaching out to them if you have any particular questions or concerns regarding the speed at which your refund is processed.
