Password issues - what gives?

Best Buy staff,

 

Ok, what gives with the passwords? I am being told that my password is invalid on a daily basis!

 

So I go in, do the forgot password, change it, then am able to logon for the balance of the day.

 

The very next day it doesn't work again ! It doesn't matter if I use the same password or change it to something completely different ! This has been going on for probably the entire last week and it's infuriating !!!

 

Am I the only person having this issue?

It sounds like you've been visiting our website a lot. I'm sorry that you've been having issues with your password changes. I've had a few other customers reach out in the past with similar issues, so you're not alone. Here are some tips and tricks to accessing our website and app, and some troubleshooting you can try:

  • Do not access www.BestBuy.com through a VPN or private-centric browser
  • When changing your password, make sure it is a unique password that has not been used in the past
  • Make sure you are not logged into your account on multiple platforms before you attempt a password reset (for example, make sure you are logged out of both the Best Buy App and logged out through your web browser)
  • Make sure you clear your cache and cookies before restarting your browser and trying to log in. Cached data from the Best Buy App can be cleared from your app settings, or by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
  • If you are asked to reset your password, do so with a new password, then immediately logout. Log back in, and it may ask you to reset your password one more time. Do so with another new password. Make sure you are following the above steps when doing so.

Sounds like we may have a winner - I fairly consistently use a VPN on my PCs, my phone and my Chromebooks - that may be it!
