Package delay/delivery/not there

Order Number: {removed per forum guidelines}

 

My package was supposed to be delivered on July 30, 2019.   The Best Buy delivery date was consistent.   Then, suddenly, I get notice of a delay.   This was supposed to be in time for a birthday for a single mother.

 

Then, two days later, I get a notification that the package was now in the hands of FedEx.    Then, I get notice that it was delivered at 1:06 to the shipping address, front door..."no signature required".    The single mother arrives home, NO PACKAGE!.    

 

Question:  Why would an item such as a laptop, NOT require a signature upon delivery?

 

Now, I'm out $650 and she's out a laptop.

 

This is not the kind of experience I can feel good about for future purchases.

I appreciate you taking the time to join and write us about your order. I can only imagine how you feel missing your order when it says it was delivered. I would be reaching out to someone if this were to happen to me. Let’s see what I can do.

 

Have you contacted FedEx about your package? Per our Shipping Times and Cost section online it specifies the Title to Products, meaning you will need to first address the loss with FedEx. Please contact them, and let me know what they say. Also, by clicking on the blue button next to my signature, send me a private message with your full name, phone number, and e-mail address connected to your BestBuy.com account.

Hi Deysha,

I have contacted FedEx and all they say is that they left it at the door.    The tracking report says that a signature was not required.    I wish I had known that prior to making my purchase in this way.

A signature should always be required for computing equipment.
