Package cancelled due to "unsuccessful delivery"

Hi - I just got a notification via email that my package has been cancelled due to unsuccessful delivery. I checked the tracking number which starts with BBYGD**** which indicates bestbuy tried to deliver the package themselves. Why wouldn't bestbuy contact me before cancelling this package? All other delivery companies (UPS, USPS, Fedex, Ontrac, Uber) have no issues accessing my area and this package does not require a signature. The item I purchased was on sale and is now back to full price so I can't repurchase it for the sale price. Thanks for your help.
