Order in progress for more than two weeks

I ordered a Sony lens (order # {removed per forum guidelines}) more than two weeks ago and the status is still shown as 'In Progress' for last two weeks. I ordered it expecing delivery within reaonable time because I have to use the lens to cover an event on 6/28/2019. Best Buy even reduced my Best Buy credit card balance for the amount of the lens but I am still waiting for the item to be delivered. No communication from Best Buy if there is a delay. Looks like Best Buy is selling items not in stock. Very dissapointed with Best Buy online purchase.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for connecting with us! Placing an order you need for an event well in advance is always ideal. It sounds like you may have done so for this Sony lens, though I'm sorry to hear it may still be processing. It sounds like there may be something further going on, such as a backorder, that may be keeping your order from processing. After my order was 'In Progress' for more a month (6/9/2019 to 7/8/2019) yesterday I decided to cancel my order. I have never heard of 'In Progress' for a month. I am a BestBuy Elite member and was disappointed with BestBuy for not updating the status. I lost one of the events because of this delay. In future I will never buy anything online from Best Buy. I think other places like Amazon are more reliable. If BestBuy didn't have in stock and ready for shipment it shouldn’t allowed to add to cart and also block the amount from the credit card. With disappointment I am not even planning to keep my Elite status in the future.

I ordered Sony G Master FE 24mm F1.4 GM lens. If BestBuy ididn't ndicate it is in stock and didn't allow me to add to the card this wouldn't have happened.

Lenses can sometimes be in tight supply. I’m sorry for the delay in getting that out to you, and that you had to cancel the order. That isn’t at all the experience we want our customers to have.
